It's hard to summarize everything that has happened in the past few days, but I'll try...
Tuesday was our worst day as far as weather is concerned... We left in the rain and cold up in the mountains and wore the rain gear most of the day. For the first time, I actually wore long pants and my sweeter all day. It was also a day of surprises, good and bad! We left before the scouts but they caught up with us for lunch so we joined them. Unfortunately, they sat down on a nearby wasp nest and 4 of the youth were stung, I got to play nurse and take care of the "wounded". Then we had a fun moment teaching them the pilgrim song Ultreia. A while later we went down a steep and rocky ravine and the bridge wasn't in good shape, I actually fell on a slippery rock and hurt my wrist, nothing serious but I got a fright. Then we helped the scouts cross over this dangerous bridge. We have been blessed by many angels during our walks and it was our turn to bless others! We managed to reach Montfaucon-en-Velay and were joined there by my good friend Beatrice who will be walking the last 3 days with us.
Wednesday, we took our time to get ready and actually had a late start but the weather improved a little, no rain which was great for Beatrice's first day. We took our time walking through easier paths than yesterday. Beautiful scenery to enjoy! Nice break for lunch with Lilo the dog sitting next to us. Wonderful evening with Martine and her guests/family and other pilgrims!
Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. Psalm 84:5
