We arrived in Piacenza yesterday afternoon and enjoyed a lovely Italian meal out on the terrace in front of the Duomo Cathedral last night, then of course some yummy gelati!

Our walk has been going well despite some contradictory signs at times or missing markings and lots of walking along roads. Weather has been good, especially days where we had heard it would rain, turned out no rain or the storm came in the evening when already at our hostel.

Dad had been sick for a couple days, he came down with a cold but we were able to get to a pharmacy and he will hopefully be better soon.

We have been blessed by the Italian hospitality, people always smile and wave at you on the path, they come up to you to talk for a while and spontaneously share what they have with you.

Today we are visiting Piacenza under a beautiful sun and will be walking a short distance to our next hostel. Tomorrow we have a long stage planned with 27km so we are happy to have a shorter day.

Nous sommes arrivés à Piacenza hier après-midi et nous avons bien mangé sur une terrasse devant la cathédrale hier soir, puis bien sûr de la bonne glace!

Notre marche se passe bien malgré quelques contradictions dans les panneaux ou le manque de panneaux et beaucoup de marche le long des routes. Le temps est bon, nous avons même échappé à la pluie lors des jours où c'était annoncé, l'orage est arrivé plus tard dans la soirée une fois qu'on était déjà au gîte.

Papa est malade depuis deux jours, il a pris froid mais nous avons pu trouver une pharmacie et nous espérons qu'il ira mieux bientôt.

Nous avons été béni par l'hospitalité italienne, les gens nous sourient et nous saluent sur le chemin, ils viennent nous parler et partage spontanément ce qu'ils ont avec nous.

Aujourd'hui nous visitons Piacenza sous le soleil et nous marcherons une courte distance pour arriver à notre prochain gîte. Demain, longue étape prévue à 27km donc une journée plus calme est bienvenue.
