I have been home for just about 4 weeks and I thought it would be good
to let you know how I am doing and how my return back to the "real"
world is going.
I must admit the first week was a little weird, being back home,
sleeping in the same bed every night, not walking very far every day,
staying home all day, not really doing much, trying to catch up with
people's lives and what happened over the summer. But it is good to be
back! I am loving walks with my dog Kenoby, spending time with family
and friends, going to church again, where I can actually worship and
understand what's going on (catholic tradition is different and church
in Spanish wasn't always easy to understand).
The first week I signed up at the unemployment office again to ensure
an income and started inquiring about possibilities to change careers
and work in childhood education. Unfortunately unemployment won't pay
me to study and change professional orientation.
I had a contact through my brother of someone who was working in a
crèche in Nyon and I had an interview with the director 2 weeks ago.
She suggested I come for a week long internship to see which age group
I prefered, this would then lead into a 6 months internship in
January, which is a requirement to get into the school for training.
This is a 3 year program while working, so it's paid training which is
good but unfortunately the school doesn't have any room until 2013...
So what would I do for almost 2 years?
Well I did the internship last week and worked with kids between 12
and 18 months for 2 days then 3 days with children between 3 and 3 1/2
years old. Loved it! Hard to say which age I preferred, both are fun
for different reasons.
On Monday, the director called and she had received positive feedback
from my internship evaluation and she offered me a job! As a full-time
auxiliary educator, starting on 1st November with an indefinite
contract. If all goes well, I can start my new training in September
2013 and this crèche would employ me during that time too.
Praise God! I really feel at peace in following this new career path,
I feel that God is calling me to work with children. I wasn't worried
about my future and trusted Him for He is God the provider. He had
opened the doors so far and within a very short time. I am sure it
will be a challenging job at times but He will give me the patience
and strength I need.
You can pray for the following items:
1) I still need to apply for the training at the school, a lengthy
process with exams and many steps still but I am hoping to send in my
application by the end of the month and sign up for the next session
of exams in January.
2) I am also in the process of revising my budget as this change in
career brings my income down a lot and I have several debts to repay.
I need God's wisdom in managing my finances.
On another note, I have joined the worship team at church again and
will continue to sing and lead worship. I also joined the crèche team
and will be looking after the kids during the service once a month.

Cela fait presque 4 semaines que je suis rentrée et j'ai pensé qu'il
était temps de vous donnez des nouvelles de mon retour dans la "vraie"
vie.
Je dois avouer que la première semaine était un peu bizarre, de
retour a la maison, dormir dans le même lit tous les soirs, ne pas
marcher très loin chaque jour, rester a la maison sans vraiment faire
grand chose, essayer de rattraper ce qu'il s'est passé pendant
l'été. Mais c'est bon d'être de retour! J'aime les promenades avec
mon chien Kenoby, passer du temps avec ma famille et mes amis, aller a
l'église ou je peux comprendre ce qui de passe (la tradition
catholique étant différente et l'espagnol n'était pas forcément
facile a comprendre).
Je me suis inscrite au chomage la première semaine pour m'assurer un
revenu et j'ai regardé les options pour changer d'orientation
professionnelle pour travailler dans l'éducation de la petite enfance.
Le chomage ne me paie malheureusement pas pour me réorienter.
J'ai eu un contact par mon frere d'une personne travaillant dans une
crèche a Nyon et j'ai eu un entretien avec la directrice il y a 2
semaines. Elle m'a proposé de venir pour un stage d'une semaine pour
voir quel groupe d'âge je préfère, ceci me permettrait ensuite de
faire un stage de 6 mois des janvier, un pré-requis pour entrer a
l'école d'educatrice. C'est un programme de 3 ans en cours d'emploi,
donc payé mais le hic c'est qu'ils n'ont pas de place avant 2013...
Alors que faire pour presque 2 ans?
Donc j'ai fait le stage la semaine passée et j'ai travaillé avec des
enfants entre 12 et 18 mois pendant 2 jours puis des enfants entre 3
ans et 3 1/2 ans. J'ai adoré! Difficile a dire quel groupe d'âge je
préfère, ils sont tous les 2 supers pour différentes raisons.
Lundi, j'ai eu un appel de la directrice et elle a reçu une
évaluation positive de mon stage et elle m'a offert un poste! En tant
qu'educatrice auxiliaire a plein-temps, avec un contrat de durée
indéterminée des le 1er novembre. Si tout va bien, je pourrais
commencer ma formation en septembre 2013 et la crèche m'employera
pendant ce temps.
Dieu soit loué! Je me sens en paix avec la décision de suivre ce
nouveau chemin de carrière, je pense que Dieu m'a appelé a travailler
avec les enfants. Je n'étais pas inquiète a propos de mon avenir et
je Lui ai fait confiance car Il est le Dieu qui pourvoit. Il a ouvert
les portes jusqu'à présent et rapidement. Je suis sûre que ce
travail aura ses défis mais Dieu me donnera la patience et la force
nécessaire.
Vous pouvez prier pour les aspects suivants:
1) Je dois compléter l'admission a la formation d'educatrice, un long
processus avec des examens et plusieurs étapes mais j'espère
envoyer les documents a l'école d'ici la fin du mois et m'inscrire
pour les examens d'entrée en janvier.
2) Je suis aussi en train de réviser mon budget car ce changement de
carrière voit mon revenu fortement baisser et j'ai plusieurs dettes a
rembourser. J'ai besoin de la sagesse de Dieu dans la gestion de mes
finances.
D'autre part, j'ai rejoint l'équipe de louange dans mon église et je
vais continuer a chanter and mener la louange. J'ai aussi rejoint
l'équipe de la crèche et je m'occuperai de surveiller les enfants
pendant le culte une fois par mois.
