Les Gentianes - Aubrac

Misty, rainy, cold and windy / Brumeux, pluvieux, froid et beaucoup de vent - 10-12' C
Today was the hardest day on the Camino so far, Suzanne, Kerry and I started off early in a misty rain for about one and a half hour, then we had a break after 8km and enjoyed hot chocolate and French Brioche. Then we walked to Nasbinals where we stopped for lunch and shopped for our meal tonight. We left there around 1pm and actually had a little sun but about 6km from our destination we ran into a storm with heavy rain and wind and no where to take shelter. At one point I couldn't even feel my hands anymore. I was singing songs of encouragement to keep me going and at one point God allowed the rain to stop briefly and my hands were able to get warm again but rain started again and as I reached the top of the hill looking down on Aubrac, it was a Halleluia moment! Got to the gite just in time to greet Suzanne as she walked into the town and she was exhausted, didn't think she would make it. Praise God we all made it safely!
Aujourd'hui, c'était la journée la plus dure sur le chemin! Suzanne, Kerry et moi sommes partis tôt ce matin dans une brume pluvieuse pendant une heure et demie, après 8km, nous avons fait une pause et apprécié un chocolat chaud et une brioche. Puis nous avons marché jusqu'à Nasbinals où nous avons mangé et acheté des provisions pour le repas de ce soir. Nous sommes partis de là vers 13h et avons même eu une petite éclaircie mais cela n'a pas duré, 6km avant notre destination, une orage a éclaté et nous avons lutté pour avancer dans la pluie et le vent, aucun endroit pour s'abriter. A un moment donné, je ne sentais plus mes mains. Je chantais des chants d'encouragement pour continuer et Dieu a permis une petite acalmie afin que mes mains se réchauffent un peu. Mais la pluie a recommencé et lorsque je suis arrivé en haut de la colline qui descend sur Aubrac, ce fut un moment Alléluia! Je suis arrivée au gite juste à temps pour accueillir Suzanne quand elle est arrivée dans le village, extenuée, elle ne pensait pas y arriver. Louez soit Dieu que nous soyons arrivés sain et sauf!
