Montbonnet - Monistrol D'Allier

Deborah, Richard and I set off on our second and last day together, sun was shining and it was a beautiful hike. They walked with me until about 30 minutes from Monistrol D'Allier where they went back to St-Privat D'Allier to catch a bus ride to Le Puy and then drive home to Switzerland. I really enjoyed having them with me to start off and we had a great time together, including half hour laugh as we were trying to get to sleep but went off on the bedbugs one can find in the area and also Deborah and Richard taking off like mountain goats and getting lost ;-) Thank you for coming my friends!
Deborah, Richard et moi sommes partis pour notre 2ème et dernière journée ensemble, le soleil brillait et c'était une magnifique marche. Ils m'ont accompagné jusqu'à environ 30 minutes de Monistrol D'Allier où ils m'ont laissé pour retourner à St-Privat D'Allier afin de prendre un bus pour Le Puy et retourner en Suisse. J'ai vraiment apprécié qu'ils m'accompagnent pour le début et nous nous sommes bien amusés, surtout lors du fou rire sur les punaises de lit au moment de se coucher et même lorsque Deborah et Richard ont foncé comme des chamois et se sont perdus ;-) Merci d'être venus mes amis !
Day 3 / Etape 3
Monistrol D'Allier - Saugues

Today was a "short" day as it was only 12km but I started off with a 400m elevation during the first hour and a half. I don't want to push it too much at the beginning. I walked up a steep path through the woods and mountain to a tiny chapel in the rock then up to Montaure, after that I was walking on the flat mostly until the final descent into Saugues; which was painful for my right knee. I got my first rain shower of the pilgrimage today but had fortunately just stopped at a house for lunch and enjoyed a yummy homemade blueberry pie and coffee while it was pouring outside. Then it stopped and I was able to continue my way on to Saugues, the first big town I've seen since Le Puy.
Aujourd'hui c'était une "courte" étape de seulement 12km mais j'ai commencé avec un montée de 400m de denivelé pendant la première heure et demie. Comme je suis au début, je ne veux pas forcer. J'ai marché sur une forte pente dans la montagne et la forêt jusqu'à une petite chapelle dans la roche puis je suis montée à Montaure, après cela, le chemin était plutôt plat excepté la dernière descente sur Saugues, ce qui était pénible pour mon genou droite. J'ai eu la prenière pluie sur le chemin mais heureusement je venais de m'arrêter dans une maison pour manger et j'ai apprécié une tarte aux myrtilles et un café pendant qu'il pleuvait dehors. Cela s'est ensuite arrêté et j'ai repris la route pour Saugues, première ville depuis le Puy.
